Today I want to talk to you about one of my favorite minerals and some foods that you can eat to get this mineral. It’s called boron.
Boron might not be one of the 24 essential micro nutrients that you need for human survival, however, it’s extremely helpful.
More specifically, boron at about 10 milligrams a day for seven days was able to increase free testosterone levels by 28 percent, decrease free estrogen levels by 39 percent and boost DHT levels by 10 percent.
Now similar results were also seen in another study that used 6 milligrams of boron for a bit longer of a duration and they saw a 29 percent increase in free testosterone levels.
We’ve also included boron in our Testro-X supplement, which is available on the Truth Nutra marketplace and for good reason, because it is such a powerful supplement for helping with hormonal balance.
Let’s look at the five foods that we recommend here on Anabolic Men to get a good source of daily boron in your diet.
Now raisins are actually the densest known natural source of boron, which is really interesting.
About 100 grams of them contains a whooping 3 milligrams of boron, which is 100 percent the recommended daily amount and about half the recommended amount to impact testosterone production.
Avocados are also a great source of monounsaturated fats, which if you consume in a normal balanced level are great for testosterone production.
Now about 100 grams of avocado is going to have two milligrams of boron, which accounts for about 65 percent the recommended daily amount.
Now third up on the list, and this food seems to show up on all of our lists, is Brazil nuts.
Brazil nuts are very high in a lot of micro nutrients but they contain a very good amount of boron.
100 grams of them contains 1.7 milligrams of boron, which is 55 percent the recommended daily amount.
This might come as no surprise because prunes are so similar to raisins, but prunes are also very dense in boron.
100 grams of prunes provides you with 1.1 milligrams of boron, which is 35 percent the recommended daily amount.
Dried apricots actually also contain a good amount of Vitamin A from carotene, they contain Vitamin C and Vitamin E.
Now about 100 grams of dried apricots is going to provide 2 milligrams of boron, which is 66 percent the recommended daily amount, which is pretty good.
Now a lot of you don’t like to consume a ton of dried fruit on a regular basis so consuming the regular form of the fruit, for example, grapes, you’d have to consume a massive amount of grapes to get the same level, however, consuming fruits with the skin on the fruit is a good idea because the boron usually is in the skin, but you can also use a supplement to get extra boron in your daily consumption.
